Which Way With Your Area Rug Up until the 1960s

Which Way With Your Area Rug
Up until the 1960s, people only used rugs in their homes and no other carpeting. Homeowners used area rugs to cover up as much of the floor as possible because rugs were warmer than the tile or wooden floors. Nevertheless, rugs were something for the well-to-do from the early 1900’s and only those with deep purses could afford rugs.

As time went on rugs started becoming so large that they covered the entire room. This became a trendy fashion because of the warmth and coziness the rugs gave a room. Not only that, it was much more comfortable on the feet. These were still rug that could be moved and not fixed carpeting.
